Jonathan Attends Investment Summit

President Goodluck Jonathan, has arrived in Paris for a meeting of the International Investment Council organised by Total Oil to woo investors to Nigeria.

Our correspondent reports that Jonathan and the First Lady, Dame Patience, arrived at the Le Bourget International Airport where they were received by the Governors of Adamawa, Anambra, Borno State, CBN Governor, Senator Nanadi Usman and officials of Total Africa.

Jonathan, Chairman of the Honorary International Investment Council (HIIC), is attending the meeting organised by Total Oil to woo investors to Nigeria.

Others who arrived for the meeting were ambassadors of Mali, Niger, Morroco, Congo Brazavaille and Togo among several others.

The HIIC, which is chaired by the President, will receive briefings on the state of the Nigerian economy from the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lamido Sanusi, Ministers of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, Power, Bart Nnaji and Agriculture, Akinwunmi Adeshina.

The briefings are meant for investment options.

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno, Minister of Internal Affairs, Abba Morro and the National Security Adviser, Gen. Andrew Azazi are expected to brief the council on the state of security in the country.
