FADAMA Canvasses Financial Prudence Of FCAs Members
The Fadama III Coordinator in Anambra, Mr. Chudi Mojekwu, has urged the state chapter of the Federated Fadama Community Associations (FCAs) to enlighten its members on how to be financially prudent and hardworking.
Mojekwu made the call at Nkpor near Onitsha, while inaugurating the newly elected state executive of the FCAs.
He said that the inauguration of the new executive would help in the implementation of the programme.
“This is important for us to achieve the set objective of the Fadama III Programme.
“I implore you to be financially disciplined and hardworking in the discharge of your various assignments since Fadama projects have been known for openness and transparency.
“With the federation, the primary beneficiaries would have access to credit facilities that would ensure the sustainability of the programme even after it is wound up.”
He noted that with federated FCAs, Fadama participants would have bargaining power with stakeholders in the agricultural and rural development sector, state and local governments, financial institutions and development partners.
The coordinator noted that the federated FCAs would be self-driven and self-sustaining, adding that state Fadama coordinating office would provide capacity building to enable members be self-reliant.
In his remark, the FCA Chairman, Mr Onyii Igboamazu, assured members that he would run an open door and all-inclusive administration to enhance the success of the programme.
Other members inaugurated along with the chairman were Mr. Albert Iweanoge, Secretary; and Mrs Nonye Chibueze, treasurer, respectively.
