Vice Chairman Tasks Women On Entrepreneurship

The Vice Chairman of Omuma Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Lucky Ngozi Nweke, has challenged women from the area to give priority to agriculture and other small scale businesses instead of ordinarily remaining as house-wives.

Mrs. Nweke gave the advice in a chat with newsmen in her office at Eberi, when women from her ward paid her a courtesy visit.

Nweke urged the women to plan to shift to large-scale agriculture which she maintained would provide the basis for the diversification and solely depending on their husband.

The vice chairman reiterated that the development of small scale agriculture will boost production and self-reliance create jobs for the people as well as provide foods.

The number two citizen in Omuma condemned the bombings by the radical Boko Haram sect in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria. She lauded President Goodluck Jonathan in handling the Boko Haram issues with civility and urged the Northern leaders to unite with the federal government against evil which Boko Haram represents.

On the infrastructural provision in the state and local government area, the vice chairman hailed Governor Amaechi and Hon John Anucha for their clear visions, focus, purposeful and dynamism in meeting the yearning of the people.

Mrs. Nweke described this year’s independence as historical and eventful positing that at 51 years of nationhood a son of the Niger Delta takes salute as the democratically elected executive president of Nigeria.

The first female vice chairman in Omuma Local Government, thanked Hon John Nnamdi Anucha for the catalogue of achievements recorded by his administration and pledged her loyalty, support and encouragement to enable him consolidate on his developmental road map.
