Chairman of Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), Rivers State Council, Mr Dabo-Ere Dokubo, has given thumps-up to match officials in the 2010/2011 Nigeria Premier League season.

Dokubo, who commended the arbiters during an interview with sports writers in Port Harcourt on Monday noted that recently, quality of the league games and officiating have improved to a remarkable standard.

The former Dolphins FC Coach, however, blamed football administrators for the current flaws in the league, saying that the infighting by soccer administrators has affected the league, resulting in an undue prolonged season.

“The infighting between soccer administrators is the major set back in the progress Nigeria League has achieved so far. “The infighting should be stopped, once and for all”, he said.

He maintained that the league season should have been completed by now, but for the disagreement of those governing football in the country.

Speaking on the Super Eagles dismal performance at the final match of Group B in the 2012 Nations Cup Qualification played last weekend between the Eagles and the Syli Nationale of Guinea, Dokubo said that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) should give the national team another chance to improve rather than dismissing them hastily.
