NPL Sacks Owumi’s Men
New Nigeria premier league Board chairman, Rumson Baribote’s leadership, has embarked on exercise to rid the body of staffers believed to be loyal to former boss Davidson Owumi.
Head of Competition Arthur Kwame and Head of Media Emeka Nwani have been shoved overboard as the new leadership looks to stamp its own imprint on the league body.
The decision was taken at a board meeting early in the week, although some board members are said to be opposed to the decisions, especially the removal of Kwame, one of the founding forces of the Premier League.
Both men are long time allies of Owumi, and fought the former chairman’s corner throughout his long drawn out battle with Baribote.
