Nigeria VS Guinea: Siasia Appeals For Support
Super Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia has appealed to Nigerians to turn out in large numbers at the National Stadium in Abuja tomorrow as the Senior National Team tackle Syli Nationale of Guinea for a place at the 2012 African Cup of Nations finals.
The Eagles need an outright win to secure a place at Africa’s football summit and former World Cup striker Siasia says the right atmosphere can only be created by capacity crowd cheering his boys on.
“We want our people to come and create the correct atmosphere at the stadium, the singing and dancing, and the whole works. We want the place bright with sea of green and white colours and everyone cheering every move of the Super Eagles.
“Support is always key in games of this nature. And we believe that Nigerians from everywhere will come to the Stadium and cheer Super Eagles to victory”, said Siasia, as his team trained at the National Stadium midweek.
Nigeria has never failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations since failing at the final qualifying hurdle against Zambia in a 0-1 aggregate defeat in 1985.
Also, Tunisia is the only team to have escaped unhurt against the Super Eagles in a competitive match at the National Stadium, Abuja, when forcing the Eagles to a 2-2 draw in a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match 25 months ago.
Meanwhile, Tickets for tomorrow’s crucial 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigerian and Guinean senior teams will sell for N3,000 and N300 respectively.
While the State Box is strictly by invitation and will be for Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, cabinet ministers and other dignitaries, the State Box Extension will go for N3,000 and the Popular Stand will be for N300 each.
The NNFF Secretariat in Zone 7, Wuse as well as Old Parade Ground, all Serob Legacy hotels in the Federal Capital, Ignobis Hotel in Kubwa and AP Lifecamp Station are some of the outlets for sale of tickets.
