Jonathan, Working To Stabilise Nigeria – Ajumogobia

President Goodluck Jonathan inherited problems that were created over several decades as such, he was working in solving and stabilising the nation, former Foreign Affairs Minister, Odein Ajumogobia (SAN) has said.

Ajumogobia who stated this in a paper he delivered at the 19th – 23rd Convocation of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu, Port Harcourt, said the solutions to the problems are complex and that it will take time to implement.

The former Minister disclosed that government at all levels are currently responding to some of the challenges by developing policies and executing programmes that are aimed at stimulating the economy and attracting investors that will create jobs.

He noted that apart from steps taken to strengthen state institutions, governments was working to restore confidence and support private sector and provide loans to manufacturers to lead the growth.

The former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Rivers State said bold reforms are being deriving to improve the state infrastructure to create a favourable environment that encourages and supports the wellbeing of citizens.

He urged Nigerians to join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan and the governors by making contributions to transform the economy.

Unless we do so, we cannot as a nation harvests the potential and resources that we collectively possess”, he said adding that “We must cease to be a nation that promises much but delivers little to its people or to the world”.
