Group Cautions Youths On Indecent Dressing

Members of the public especially youths have been cautioned on the need to shun indecent dressing especially in public places.

The team leader of Redefining Values Initiative (RVI), Mr Desire Godson, who made the call in Port Harcourt Thursday while leading his team in a campaign against indecent dressing said the issue has now become a menance in the society particularly among the youths.

According to him, the RVI is striving to redeem the lost values of the youth adding that the idea was informed by its desire to stop the female folks who are almost going naked in the guise of fashionable dressing.

He also traced some causes of sexual harassment on the female folks to indecent dressing, saying that raunchy attires have changed their individuality.

Godson also said the NGO would Government’s support on the need to enact a law against indecent dressing through the legislature.

Also speaking, the coordinator of the Team, Clement Hope, said the time to push against indecent dressing was now that the youths have forgotten their values.

Hope regretted that young people now expose some vital parts of their bodies recklessly in the name of fashion.

It would be recalled that wife of former Rivers State Governor Hon. Justice Mary Odili pushed seriously against indecent dressing among women in the state.
