Electricity Project Neglect Of Communities Worries Councillor

The councillor representing Ward eight in Omuma Legislative Council, Hon. Francis Okpoko, has decried non inclusion of four villages in the ward on the council’s rural electrification project since four years ago.

Hon Okpoko expressed his displeasure  in his office at Eberi when over 500 protesters from the four affected villages namely, Ieroke, Umuisu, Umuocham and Umuochiri visited him.

The lawmaker told The Tide in Omuma, that the four affected villages protested due to years of neglect and suffering from the government.

He explained further that successive administrations in the local government and state have continued to deny the area of social amenities such as potable water, good road net work, health centre among others and appealed to the present administration of Hon John Anucha and Governor Chibuike Amaechi to include these villages in their road map of developments to make the people have a sense of belonging.

Hon. Okpoko who is chairman Committee on Public Complaints and petition explained that his people may petition over their exclusion from government projects to the Presidnet through the state governor for documentation and necessary action.
