Siasia, Super Eagles Commend Ikpeba Over Accommodation
Victor Ikpeba and his team of three received commendation from players and technical officials for their handling of the Super Eagles accommodation arrangements.
Former international striker Ikpeba, now a member of the NFF Technical Committee, led a three-man advance party that included Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Mohammed and NFF Secretariat staff Bola Oyeyode to Madagascar three days before the squad were due to arrive.
The party described the hotel originally booked for the Super Eagles as ‘sub-standard for our players’ and opted instead for the Hotel Carlton, a five-star facility regarded as the best hotel in Madagascar.
“We did not want the situation we saw before to happen again,” Ikpeba said. “Our players have been made to stay in hotels that do not befit our status and we had to change that.”
Unlike previous occasions when players and officials would have cause to gripe about the accommodations, there was genuine appreciation of the lodgings.
“This is very impressive,” Coach Samson Siasia said. “You can see the players are very happy and there has been no complaints, unlike before,” Saisia said.
