Rivers Angels Go For Federation Cup Glory …Beat Delta Queens 2-0 In Semi-Finals

Rivers Angels FC yesterday in Abuja extracted a measure of revenge on Delta Queens of Asaba, courtesy of a lone goal victory at the weekend.

But playing in the women’s national Challenge Cup semi-finals match yesterday, the Angels handed a 2-0 defeat to the Queens, to book today’s final date with Sunshine Queens of Akure.

A goal each by Mercy Ebere in the 30th minutes and Mercy Amnaze in the 57th were enough to give Rivers Angels another chance to try to end the season with a piece of silver ware.

After their loss to Delta Queens at the weekend, Rivers Angels attacker, Stella Mbachu had promised that the Challenge Cup semi finals match would be different as they were determined to turn the table on the Queens

Now that they are only 90 minutes away from defending the trophy they won last season, the Angels have promised to subdue Sunshine Queens and bring home the trophy.
