The National Chairman, Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA), Chief Sam Nkire, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to begin a programme of national reconciliation to foster national peace and security.

Nkire told newsmen in Abuja that “it is unfortunate that the much anticipated move to reconcile all interest groups who feel aggrieved in one way or the other by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government is yet to start”.

“This is many months after the swearing of the new government,’’ Nkire said.

The PPA chairman urged Jonathan to forsake the idea of “winner takes all” approach to governance and try to accommodate all interest groups, including geo-political zones, tribes and sub-tribes as well as political and religious associations in the interest of peace and stability.

According to him, it will be difficult to have peace and stability without genuine reconciliation among the people and assurance of protection.
