Osaze Set For Eagles Return
Nigeria head coach Samson Siasia will announce the squad to face Guinea in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next week.
The coach is expected to recall Ekigho Ehiosun and Osaze Odemwingie, who were left out of the squad that faced Madagascar recently owing to lack of fitness, and injury, respectively.
Odemwingie last played for Nigeria in a 4-0 win over Ethiopia in a Nations Cup qualifier on March 26.
After that he had a much publicised argument with Siasia, and then suffered from a recurring ankle injury.
Emmanuel Ekpo and Danny Shittu are apparently likely to make the cut, while Victor Anichebe is ruled out with a long-term unjury he picked up against Madagascar.
“The team list will first be submitted to the NFF technical committee for their usual vetting before the coach now makes an official announcement of the players in a press conference. It is very likely that the list will be announced next week,” a source confirmed to Tidesports’ source.
The Super Eagles will qualify for the 2012 Afcon if they beat Guinea 2-0.
The squad will be retained for the friendly against Ghana in London on October 11.
