Nurse’s Death: Family Petition Anambra CP

The family of deceased Nurse Uzoamaka Offor has petitioned the Anambra Commissioner of  Police, Mr Murktari Ibrahim, over

her death at Chioma Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra.

Uzomaka was allegedly murdered by unknown persons on Aug. 24 in the premises of the hospital where she worked.

The father of the deceased, Mr Augustine Offor, in the petition, written by Chief John Nso of the Ogechukwu Chambers, wants the police to unravel those behind the gruesome murder and bring them to book.

Offor, in the petition on Wednesday in Awka, alleged that there was no bodily injury on the deceased to show that she died after being thrown down from a three-storey building as alleged.

According to him, Uzoamaka Offor was murdered after she had retired to her room, located on the third floor of the hospital building.

Offor said there was a sharp cut on his late daughter’s head, suspected to be a machete cut, insisting that she was murdered before being thrown down the building to divert attention.

He expressed displeasure at the way the Nnewi Central Police Station was handling the matter and consequently insisted that a petition be written.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Emeka Chukwuemeka, said investigations were on-going and that reports would be made public as soon as possible.

Our correspondent reports that late Uzoamaka, a native of Isuochi in Umuneochi Local Government Area of Abia, was described as easy going before her untimely death.
