NTA Reiterates Commitment To Enugu Development
The Nigerian Television Authority has restated its commitment to the full coverage of developmental efforts in Enugu State.
Mr Patrick Ogbu, the Chairman, Board of Directors of the NTA, said this in Enugu on Monday during a courtesy visit to Governor Sullivan Chime.
He said the coverage would enhance cooperation between the state government and the outfit.
Ogbu, who was on a tour to NTA Enugu Zonal Centre, said the aim was to familiarise himself with the centre and assess its facilities to reposition them for service delivery.
According to him, the world has become a global economy with the media a critical partner in the globalisation process.
He said that approval had been made for the citing of NTA stations at Nsukka and Udi in Enugu State.
Ogbu said NTA planned to upgrade its facilities and to establish of community television in all the senatorial headquarters.
“Establishing community television in all the senatorial headquarters will help us to adequately cover the rural areas where majority of the electorate reside,’’ the chairman said.
He explained that the partnership with Star-Times, a Chinese communication firm to give viewers access to 40 additional stations, would soon be launched in Enugu.
Responding, Chime said that his administration had partnered and would continue to partner with the NTA.
The governor, who was represented by the Mr Patrick Okolo, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), expressed appreciation to the management of NTA for attracting two more stations to the state.
