Monarch Urges Commissioner To Checkmate LG Chairmen

The paramount ruler of

Port Harcourt City HRM, Eze Sunday N. Woluchem, has appealed to the Rivers State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Charles okaye to checkmate the activities of council chairman in the state.

Eze Woluchem, made the appeal Tuesday at his palace in Port Harcourt when the Commissioner and his entourage paid a courtesy call on him.

He said the call became necessary in order to make council chairmen know their limit in the state.

The Rebisi Monarch regretted that most council chairmen do not record any meaningful project before the expiration of their tenure and applauded Okeye for the visit.

In his response, the Commissioner, said he will welcome any advice from the Monarch that is capable of moving the state forward, while assuring him of his readiness to work in harmony with his kingdom.

In another development the Commissioner has charged members of his staff to exhibit high level of dedication in order to achieve the ministry goals.

Okaye who spoke at the interactive forum with members of staff, said functions of the Ministry in resolving community issues cannot be over emphasized.

He also enjoined them to embrace team spirit and pay more attention to issues that can bring positive change to the Ministry.

He promised to reward hardworking staff in the Ministry, adding that its desire is to gave into the fast lane of Amaechi’s developmental strides.
