The emergence of Hon Dakuku Peterside as the chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum (downstream) in the House of Representatives, has been attributed to hardwork, integrity and transparency.

The Executive Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro, Mr Maclean  Bethel Uranta, who stated this in an interview with The Tide recently, lauded the appointment of the federal lawmaker, as a testimony of the hardwork, integrity, diligence and transparency which had been his hallmark in public office.

Mr Uranta noted that Dakuku’s appointment as committee chairman on petroleum (downstream) in the House of Representatives has further justified the confidence reposed on the lawmaker as a worthy representative.

The local government boss extolled the sterling qualities of the former commissioner for works, saying, “He remains a shinning example to our youths, a pride to our elders and the hope of the future generations”.

It is to the credit of Hon. Dakuku Peterside that a new air of unity is now pervading the Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency. He was able to form unity among the  people of the constituency through his openness to all”, adding that the current peaceful co-existence would bring more development to the area.

Uranta, however, commended Governor Chibuike Amaechi for his support to Hon Peterside and the people of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, noting that the people of the area will forever remain grateful to him.

The chairman enjoined the people of the area to continue to exhibit  high sense of unity, co-operation and peaceful co-existence to engender greater development for the area and the state at large.
