Gokana Moves To Establish ICT Centre, Loan Scheme
Gokana Local Government Council has planned to establish an information and communications technology (ICT) centre in the area, in a bid to train youths on skills acquisition.
The Chairman of the Council, Hon. Deemua Ledee Deemua dropped the hint recently during the inauguration of Gokana Youth Council.
Hon. Deemua said ICT was one of the world’s foremost technology that need to be taken to the grassroot for proper education of all.
According him, the idea is also to engage youths in a meaningful project in order to redirect their minds from crime.
Though he was not specific about time of establishment of the proposed centre, but was emphatic that all necessary logistics that will beef up the project have been considered, and noted that the council will not hesitate to provide positive projects that will impact positively on every one in the area.
The Gokana Council boss, also hinted that a loan scheme would soon be rolled out for his people so as to press down his plans to elevate the plight of the people.
He explained that the loan scheme will cut across all in the LGA, including the less privileged.
Deemua also called on the Youths to be of good conduct and respect constituted authorities in order to benefit from the government of the day.
He maintained that his administration is poised to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Gokana, saying that the council is working towards the attainment of greater heights.
