Council Boss Sues For Peace

The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Dame Maureen Tamuno has again appealed to the people of the area to remain calm, law abiding, prayerful and focused to enable the council deliver the dividends of democracy to its citizenry.

Dame Tamuno, who made the appeal during a stakeholders Town Hall meeting at the Multi-purpose Hall, Ogu recently, said with their cor-operation and support, she would take the local government to the next level, with God on her side.

She disclosed that her administration had plans for agriculture, empowerment and human capacity development, stressing that with meager resources, she would strive to put smiles on the faces of the people in the area.

According to her, arrangements are in top gear to partner with cosmopolitan micro-finance bank on public private partnership (PPP) to strategise and ensure rapid development.

The Ogu/Bolo Local Government boss also noted that education would be given priority attention as the bedrock societal advancement, and commended the wife of the Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi for her Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) Nursery School which she said is very important at the rural areas.

She said from the nursery school children will have the foundation as they progress to primary and tertiary institutions, and called on parents and guardians to provide the educational needs of their children and wards for educational advancement, assuring of the council’s support.

The meeting which was attended by personalities from the area, also featured interactive session.
