Church Plans ICT Training for Members
Omega Power Ministry (OPM) says the Church will soon establish a proper Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre in Rivers State as part of its resolution to keep its members abreast with the global information.
The General Overseer of the Church, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere made the comment Sunday when he was handing over certificates to graduands of the OPM Foundation
Apostle Chinyere said the idea was to ensure that both members and non members of the Church gained the required skills in ICT.
According to him, the free computer training of the Church was born out of mere love for the masses, adding that the church planned to spread the skill among all human classes.
He informed that the training was centred on design and operations as well as other basic knowledge on ICT. he said that at the present, he said, the scheme has ICT centres at Elele Prisons, Bundu and other areas within the state.
The cleric who urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity, maintained that the Church is also determined to take care of the people’s physical need, adding that they must strive to beat the aim of the training.
One of the graduands, Mr. Ifeanyi Amaechi, explained that the training was extended to coral draw, Power-Point, Micro soft world and other areas with the latest ICT skill.
Amaechi, said he could now design and do metal works as well as typing, adding that he can also couple and maintain computer as part of the skill acquired during the training.
Other groups were also trained on Video recording/editing, while 14 sewing machines was donated to some women by the welfare Committee.
