… As NNPP Battles PDP
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), says the party is ready for the Degema local government council election tomorrow.
The Chairman of the party in Rivers State, Mr. Princewill Enyi noted that the party was presenting 12 councillorship candidates out of the 17 wards in addition to the chairmanship candidate of the party.
Mr. Enyi said the party was also campaigning in the affected wards where they are presenting candidates, stressing that the ruling party might not have it easy in Saturday’s election.
The state chairman commended the returning officer of last Friday’s primaries, Ms Angela Womuru for her unbiased disposition in ensuring that the party’s internal democracy was maintained.
He called on the members of the party to always protect the interest of the party and work against the domination of PDP in the area.
According to him, PDP had ruled the local government since 1999 and regretted that the council was still under-developed.
