The South-South/South-East zones of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed its readiness to support the Federal Government in the effort to curb the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The chairman of the zones, Alhaji Musa Saidu who said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, described the group as both anti-North and anti-Islam.

Alhaji Saidu said that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) both in the East, South-South and elsewhere have already made a statement dissociating themselves from the activities of the terrorist group.

He described the group as faceless, stressing that the activities of the Boko Haram since its inception have been shrouded in secrecy.

“Who are these people called Boko Haram, where are they operating from, what are their demands?” he queried.

The ACF chairman also said that the Islamic religion does not support bloodshed, pointing out that no Moslem in Nigeria is happy that the group is hiding under the cover of Islam to unleash violence in the country.

Also speaking, the chairman of Northern Traditional Rulers Forum, South-South and South-East, Alhaji Isa Madaki said that the Boko Haram group can never speak for Islam as the religion is against their activities.

Alhaji Madaki said that the Northern traditional rulers in the two zones are not only against Boko Haram, but also other terrorist groups in the country.
