Amanyanabo Hails Okaye’s Appointment

The Amanyanabo of Kalabari Kingdom and Chairman, Rivers State Council of  Traditional rulers, Prof. Theophilus J.T. Princewill (Amachree 1X), has hailed the appointment of Hon. Charles Okaye as the State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

HRM, Princewill, made the observation last week when the Commissioner paid him homage in his Palace at Buguma in Asari-Toru Local Government Area.

Describing Hon. Okaye as a brilliant scholar during his days in University, he said it is good to be fair to one’s children.

He pointed out that the Commissioner would not have remembered him as a traditional ruler, if he was not nice to him.

The Monarch who appreciated Amaechi over the appointment of his “son” as a Commissioner in the state, prayed God to give him the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Ministry, adding that his doors are always open at all times for advice.

Earlier, Okaye had lauded the Kalabari king for the knowledge he imparted to him when he was in the University.

He said the visit became imperative in order to have a fatherly advice, which according to him, will enable him meet the challenges of Governor Amaechi’s government which is on a fast lane of development.

He also thanked the Monarch for the relative peace in the rural communities in the state, which he attributed to the hardwork of the Rivers State Council of traditional rulers.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Somieari Isaac-Harry, Director Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Edmond Elechi were among the Commissioners entourage during the visit.
