Amaechi, Others Mourn Mayors’ Wife
The Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has described the death of the wife of Mayor of Port Harcourt, Mrs. Caroline Chimbiko Akarolo as a huge loss to the council and family.
Speaking at the funeral service of Late Mrs. Akarolo yesterday, at Anglican Church of the Messiah, Elekahia in Port Harcourt, Rt .Hon Amaechi remarked that she died at a time she was most needed by her husband and the city council.
The Governor who conveyed the sympathy of his family and people of the state charged the Mayor to be courageous and ensure that the little kids left behind by the wife were well catered for.
He further assured Hon Akarolo,”some of us who are your friends would stand by you and we pray God to give you the grace to bear this pain.”
Rt Hon. Amaechi had at the service of songs of Mrs Akarolo on Wednesday evening lamented that, “the worst thing that can happen to a man is to lose his young wife,” emphasizing that it would be difficult to fill the vacuum left by the Late Mrs Akarolo.
The Governor advised the Mayor to always put his hope in God in order to overcome the pains in this moment of grief.

He recalled that, “Nne was very supportive to my political career so much that my friends call her ‘Chief Strategist’. “
Vicar of the church, Rev .M C. Enwereji who poured encomiums on Mrs Akarolo said the late wife of the Mayor of Port Harcourt has translated to glory since she was a christian,” with the hope of ressurection on the last day.”
He charged the husband to depend on God stressing that it was only God that can console him and the family assuring that with Christ the family would recuperate quickly.
