… As Sunshine Queens Maul Standard Babes 7 – 1

The Sunshine Queens of Akure also continued to maintain their lead at the Ilorin Township Stadium at the ongoing Women Challenge Cup after demolishing their opponent, Standard Babes of Abia by 7 goal to one.

The energy sapping encounter saw the Sunshine tormenting the defence of their opponent from the early minute of the game.

Their efforts, however, paid off in the first half as they recorded three goals, through Super Falcon striker Esther Sunday in the 28th and 35 minutes respectively.

Charity Ifeaku made it three for the Sunshine Queens before the end of the first half of the game.

In the second half, Ishola Oyenusi and Esther became thorn in the flesh of their opponents.

Oyenusi increased the tally to make it four and subsequently seven before the end of the game, with Mary Olaitan and Blessing Ndiaka also registering a goal each, while Angel Onu scored a consolation goal for the Standard Babes.
