RVHA Summons DELGA Boss

The Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned the chairman of Degema local government area, Mr Abiye Davies to appear before it next week on allegations of non-payment of allowances brought against him.

Already the House has threatened to order the arrest of the chairman, if  he fails to appear before them on Wednesday, 10 August, 2011.

The Tide learnt that supervisors and special advisers of the local government council had petitioned the leadership of the House over the matter.

Hon Otelemaba Amachree Speaker of State House of Assembly, who notified members of the petition, said that Davies was expected to explain why he refused to pay the outstanding allowances.

Amachree warned that the House would not hesitate to issue a warrant for the arrest of the council chairman if he (Davies) failed to appear before it at the stipulated time.
