RSG Lauds Presidential Hotel Management

Rivers State Government has commended the staff and management of Hotel Presidential, for the ongoing upgrading proggramme meet international 5-star hotel status.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr Emmanuel Alex-Hart made the commendation last Wednesday during an inspection visit to the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt.

Dr Hart expressed delight on the standard of renovation and refurbishment job done, stressing that the combined efforts of the staff and management of the hotel, in the area of improved facilities, is highly encouraging.

In his speech, while conducting tour of the hotel facilities, the General Manager Per Stafsen said his management team is working hard to honour the contract Courdeau Nigeria Limited entered with the government of Rivers State.

Mr  Stafsen on behalf of the management thanked the Permanent Secretary and his team and expressed their readiness to continue to work with the state government to meet the goals set out in the contract.

He said his management has decided to take up the challenge of repair and maintenance of the facilities of the hotel to an internationally acceptable standard, adding that some of the items installed for improvement of the quality of facilities include one new 2000 KVA generator, and modern bush bar in another development, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr Emmanuel Alex-Hart has called on local private investors and foreigners desirous of direct foreign investments to take advantage of Governor Amaechi’s public private partnership initiatives.

Dr Hart made the appeal last Friday at the Amalgamated Distilleries of Nigeria Limited, Trans Amadi Industrial Layout, Port Harcourt, during an inspection visit to the company premises.

He said, government was exploring the possibility of attracting investors that could take up the challenge of revitalising the ailing industries in the state.

The Permanent Secretary added that government is ready to partner with any private investor that could revamp the company.
