The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)  may head to court  to stop some laws and  clauses recently passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The party last week had described the laws as unnecessary,  irrelevant and called for the expunging  of such Idris from the state statute  books.

In a statement   issued by the Action Congress of Nigeria, in the State and signed by the publicity secretary, Mr. Jerry Needam said the party was disenchanted with the way and manner the state House of Assembly had chosen the path of false hood in order to curry favour from certain superior  quarters.

The party further accuse  the Sate Assembly for churning out laws that do not  only ridicule the democratic  process but also expose the state resources  to exploitation and fraud  against  issues that have direct positive impact on the lives and welfare of the masses.

The ACN  listed some of the  laws clauses to include  the Rivers State public procurement  law No.4 of 2008, and the public  participation infrastructure  development law No. 5 of 2009.

The party noted with disdain the provision of the public procurement law  part v section 21 (4) with respect to the award   of contracts which empower   the Governor to award contract for the execution of projects and other jobs.

The ACN maintained that  these  laws and  clauses  be expunged  or it would seek redress in the court.

According in the party, if thee Assembly refuse to recind its decision, the ACN  will  prefer  legal proceedings against  the relevant  laws to correct the situation.
