The new secretariat building of the  Nigerian Society of Engineers, (NSE) Port Harcourt branch, has been completed.

The new secretariat, which almost doubled the size of the former building  is located at the NSE secretariat at the Water Works premises in Moscow Road in Port Harcourt, and has in it features that depict modern structure.

A visit to the NSE secretariat premises revealed that the building was completed in utmost determination by the members to give the environment a better outlook, as it did not take much time for the completion.

Chairman of the Property Development Committee of the branch, Engineer A.E. Okezie, in a statement earlier had stated that the expansion project which  the branch embarked upon was to enable her accommodate all her members, including the new members.

According to him, one other reason for embarking on the project was to make the NSE secretariat building look more modern to depict the present realities in building designs.

He said they have taken pains to redesign various things, including the electrical system, and as well create new supply line, pointing out that the project gulped more than the initial six million naira that was approved by the executive members of the branch, and that almost double the initial budget was expended on the project.

By the completion of this project, it will be obvious that some hitches suffered by members of the branch in recent time as to where to hold some of their programmes might be over, when fully in use.
