Nations Cup: Super Eagles’ll Qualify – NFF
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has assured football enthusiasts of Super Eagles’ qualification for the 2012 Nation’s Cup final.
The NFF President, Mr Aminu Maigari, gave the assurance in Abuja, while speaking with newsmen.
He said the federation had started work on some strategies that would ensure the Eagles qualification.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are in group two with seven points alongside Guinea which has 10 points, Ethiopia, four points and Madagascar, one point.
The Eagles are warming up for a return leg against Madagascar next weekend, before proceeding to play Guinea in Nigeria.
According to Maigari, the NFF Committee is working underground to ensure the Eagles’ qualification.
“We met recently to plan on a strategy that will give us a positive outcome.”
He said that the federation was also working to ensure the quick release of the players from their various clubs and to get VISA on time to prepare for the remaining crucial matches.
Maigari said the federation had told the Super Eagles handler, Coach Samson Siasia, to reach out to the players early to enable them prepare for the match.
According to him, plans are underway to organise a seminar for all the national teams’ handlers and some of the officials of the federation.
“We had contacted some resource persons in England and Germany that will be coming to share their views in football activities with NFF staff. “This is because some of our staff do not know much about football business, while some are not IT compliant.
“The federation will take stock of all these and act on it.”
