Minister To Review Pending Issues
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ms Ama Pepple, has reiterated federal government’s commitment towards ensuring that all pending issues in housing and lands will be reviewed to favour development and employment.
She said that all pending issues in urban development, lands and housing matters, notably; review of Land Use Act, prosecution of land and housing policy, as well as rolling out the National Building Code, would be properly reviewed and adequately implemented.
Ama, who was speaking in a meeting she had with members of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) in Abuja, also stated that the president has directed that any project proposal submitted by the ministry of housing and urban development must have capacity to gainfully employ Nigerians.
According to her, the president Goodluck Jonathan led administration is wholly committed to providing job opportunities for the teeming Nigerian youths and the general public at large.
She, therefore, urged the NIESV to submit within two weeks all areas of interest in their programmes, projects and activities, which will be useful to the operations of the ministry.
Pepple also promised to involve estate surveyors and valuers in all the key projects and programmes that the ministry of housing and urban development will embark upon.
NIESV in the visit sought for all stakeholders retreat, which will be coordinated by the professionals in the built-environment, to x-ray housing problems.
