Minister Condoles Brilla FM, SWAN Over Oni’s Death
The Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Yusuf Suleiman has condoled with Brilla FM 88.9 Abuja and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) over the death of Mr Jibola Oni.
Oni, a journalist with the radio station died on August 22 after a brief illness.
A statement by Mr Tony Ohaeri, the spokesman of the NSC, in Abuja quoted the minister as describing Oni as an intelligent and hardworking journalist who had contributed to the development of sports.
“ It is painful and regrettable for Nigerian sports and the journalism profession to lose the services of Mr. Jibola Oni of Brilla FM Radio, who died on August 22 after a brief illness,” he said.
He prayed God to grant the family, the government and people of Ekiti State and the Nigerian sporting community the fortitude to bear the loss.
