Legislator Plans Bill For Youths Empowerment
The member representing Asari-Toru Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Ben Horsefall says he will soon pass a bill that will empower the youths for gainful employment in the area.
Hon Horsefall gave this indication while addressing a delegation from the Amanyanabo of Kalabari in council during a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt.
He noted that youth empowerment was a panacea for sustainable development in any given society. According to him, “if the youths are not properly engaged efforts on infrastructural development will not be sustainable, as the youths could be used as irresistible tool to forment conflict at the grass roots.
Therefore he called for the moral re-alignment of youths and emphasized the need for entrepreneurial development and skills acquisition for them in the area.
Hon. Horsefall thanked the Kalabari monarch and the entire Kalabari council of Chiefs for the honour done him.
He also solicited for their royal advice to enable him succeed in his legislative duties.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Chief Lavenda LongJohn said the Kalabari council of Chief resolved to honour the law maker in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of the area.
He said the Kalabari Monarch and his council will continue to give their support to the law maker to enable him attract development project to the area.
He also called on the law maker to ensure that he provide effective representation to the people of his constituency and also serve as a worthy ambassador of the Kalabari kingdom.
Later the lawmaker was presented with a souvenir as a symbol of love from the Kalabari Monarch King Prof T.J.T Princewill.
In the delegation were a season journalist, Chief (Barrister) Ipalibo Botoye, and Chief Brown Opukin, a member of Buguma council of chiefts.
