Disu, Others Task NFA On Continuity Of Players
Nigerian coaches, including Tunde Disu, have advised the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) to ensure that players from age group competitions graduate into the senior national team to enhance soccer development.
Disu, who led the Flying Eagles to win a silver medal at the Saudi ’89 U-20 World Cup, gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.
He said that the John Obuh-led team that just crashed out of the U-20 World Cup in Colombia should form the nucleus of the next set of Super Eagles team.
“This is truly a team to reckon with, if nurtured to the senior team. The boys will make a formidable team and Nigeria’s football will go places,” Disu said.
He noted that most of the players in the team had distinguished themselves with regard to the skill, strength and determination they had displayed so far in Colombia.
“Nurturing of players from younger team to the senior team would promote and strengthen our football, we should learn from most of the foreign countries,” the former Flying Eagles coach said.
Rolandson Odeh, President, Amalgamation of Nigeria Female Football Coaches Association (ANFFCA), also commended the exploits of the team at the U-20 soccer fiesta.
