Bloombreed Pledges Commitment To Academic Excellence

The wife of the Managing Director, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Proprietress, Bloombreed Group of Schools, Mrs Funke Sunmonu, has pledged her commitment to ensuring academic excellence and a new vista in the educational landscape of the country.

Mrs Sunmonu, who stated this in an interview with newsmen at the schools’ speech and prize giving day in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said the schools were well-positioned to provide all-round education to students who seek quality academic standard that would enable them contribute to the development of the nation.

According to her, it was to achieve this goal that she has invested significantly in the provision of necessary equipment and resources in all units of the school to enable pupils and students of Bloombreed to compete favourably with the best across the world.

Mrs Sunmonu noted that as a world-class professional teacher, with broad knowledge and skills, she was poised to bring Broombreed’s cutting-edge Montessori, primary and secondary advantage to a larger population of the people in the state.

She expressed delight that most of the graduands from the Montessori and primary schools, who obtained admission into schools abroad have been excellent beacons of hope for the future of Blommbreed, adding that interesting testimonies abound on the quality of academic knowledge imparted into students in the schools.

The Abeokuta-born academic, listed the things making the bold statement for the schools to include friendly, competent and committed academic and non-academic staff, conducive teaching and learning environment, state-of-the-art science, music, home economics, social science and arts labs and practical workshops, as well as competitive extra-curricular schedules, with boarding facilities.

“We have now fully set up all our laboratories, and recently remodelled our home economic laboratory to make it more functional,” Mrs Sunmonu said, stressing that, “additional investment has been made to bring our music laboratory to a much higher standard.”

According to her, “Bloombreed’s main objective remains to provide quality education at par with international standards. Enabled by good infrastructure, the school follows modern and innovative methods of teaching for an over-all development of your child.

“We are more than ever determined to give our students the best and quality education,” she noted, emphasising that for this reason, “the school is registering with international examination bodies to ensure our students have a wide range of options for their tertiary education.”
