Anti-Bomb Squad For Eagles In Abuja
Nigeria took no chances with the safety of the Super Eagles in Abuja in the wake of recent bomb blasts in the country as they prepared for the crucial Nations Cup qualifier away to Madagascar.
A team from the police Anti-Bomb Squad has been detailed to be with the team, and regularly inspect the team bus before the players board the vehicle.
Although the Transcorp Hilton Hotel lodging of the squad has a military presence at all entrances, officials said that extra care was being taken with the Super Eagles to forestall any incidents.
Twelve players were involved in training yesterday morning, with Emmanuel Emenike excused after he arrived just before the team left for their first training session.
