AKULGA Sets Up Peace Body On Soku Crises

Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Mr Theodore Georgewill, has constituted a peace committee tagged Soku Community Peace Management Committee.

The Peace Committee will oversee the affairs of the community for a period of six months, during which it would liaise with the different groups and find lasting solution to the crises in the area.

Mr Theodore Georgewill who announced this during a peace meeting with chiefs and youth groups of Soku community following petitions from indigenes, said he decided to set up a peace committee to run the affairs of the community to resolve the issues raised and assured them that the committee would not be partial in the discharge of their functions.

The Akulga boss assured them of providing adequate security of lives and property and thanked them for their understanding and cooperation, adding that all the companies operating in Soku community would be informed of the formation of the peace committee.

In his remarks, the chairman of the peace committee, Mr Daboikiabo Dappa appealed to the chiefs and youth of Soku community to give them the necessary co-operation and understanding to enable the committee perform excellently.

Other members of the committee  are  Oselema Alaibo-vice chairman, David Otiasa-Secreatry, Atiemia Cotterel, Ibinabo Monday, Alali Obamaba, Madam Adaba West, and Prince Alalibo Alaye.
