Wrestlers Begin Weighing For Events …33 States To Vie For Honours
Wrestlers of various states at the 17th National Sports Festival yesterday in Port Harcourt began weighing of their weight categories for events which would begins today at the Civic Centre.
An official of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Tunde Makanjuola told our correspondent that the weighing was a criterion for wrestlers to fight in their appropriate weight category.
He also said that 33 states were currently taking part in the process, saying that it will be completed today before the commencement of the events.
“We have to ensure that a 50Kg does not fight a 75kg, so we intend to make it a compulsion for wrestlers to do the weighing,“ Makanjuola said.
