The Area Superintendent in charge of the Apostolic Church, Umuokwa area in Omuma Local Government Area, Rivers State, Rev. Emmanuel Ejiogu Onwudebe has challenged Nigerians particularly Christians in positions of authority to always inculcate the spirit of appreciating God’s favour in order to attract more blessings and protection.

Rev. Onwudebe made the call while delivering a sermon at a special thanksgiving service organised by Hon. Georgeford Nwosu, the immediate past member who represented  Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives last Sunday.

Quoting the Bible book of first Corinthians chapter 16 verse two to 10 to buttress his points, the minister of God reminded the congregation that thanksgiving is one of the pillars of God’s commandments stressing that Christians who acts in contrary should regard themselves as debtors.

He used the opportunity to appeal to those in position of authority to always rule the people with fear of God in order to deliver the expected dividends of democracy which according to him would ensure peaceful co-existence in the country.

Also speaking, Hon. Georgeford Nwosu said that the thanksgiving service was aimed at appreciating God’s protection for eight years in the House of Representatives pointing out that some members died while many who lived to the end of their tenure are either facing trial or health related challenges.

The paramount ruler of Omumu (Omu II) His Royal Majesty, Eze Monday Ojiegbe described Hon. Nwosu as a special gift not only to his family but also entire Etche ethnic nationality.

Eze Ojiegbe also said that Hon. Nwosu does not only inculcate the spirit of appreciating God but also his fellow human beings and charged other politicians in the area to emulate him in the interest of the development of the area.
