Super Eagles To Avoid Head To Head Scenario …2012 Nation Cup Qualifiers
The Goalkeeper Trainer of the Super Eagles, Ike Shorunmu, has said that the chances of the Super Eagles qualifying for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations were still on course.
Shorunmu said yesterday in Lagos that it was too early for anyone to write off the Super Eagles at this stage of the qualifiers.
He said that the players were determined to win their remaining matches in the qualifiers to stave off a head to head scenario with the Guineans.
The former Besikstas FC of Turkey goalkeeper told newsmen that the remaining matches would be prosecuted by the same set of players, barring injuries.
“We are very confident of winning our remaining matches in the AFCON qualifiers and we are not entertaining any negative thoughts about that.
“It is now left for us to put our acts together and be coherent in our strategy and tactics.
“Once we pay attention to all the small details in our preparations, victory and qualification for the Nations Cup will be achieved,” he said.
Shorunmu urged football fans across the country to continuously support the team and not give up because of the recent 2-2 draw with the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia.
