The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Senatorial candidate for Rivers South East in the April 2011 elections, Dr. Nomate Kpea has withdrawn his petition from the Election Petition Tribunal.
Dr. Kpea had filed his petition at the Tribunal to challenge the election of Senator Magnus Abe who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He also said that the action will help in the reconciliation of all aggrieved parties in the area.
“I am today letting everybody know that I am here to heal the wounds of our communities, he said.
The ACN senatorial candidate said that there was no need for continuous fighting and quarrelling since Senator Abe meant well for the area stressing that it behoves the people of the South East Senatorial Zone to work together for the development of the zone.
While denying that he was settling to withdraw the suit, he said that he may consider coming up for future elective position.
Meanwhile, the Magnus Abe Campaign Orga-nisation has commended Dr. Kpea for the courage to withdraw the petition.
