Rivers, New Pacesetter In Sports – Jimmy Coker
A renown sports administrator Chief Jimmy Coker has described Rivers State as a pacesetter of sports following the successful hosting of the recently concluded Sports Festival, tagged Garden City Games 2011 in Port Harcourt, describing it as a World Class event.
He also gave Kudos to the State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi on the success of the Sports fiesta. Chief Coker, who barred his mind in a telephone chat with Tidesports in Port Harcourt, said that the organisation was spectacular.
According to him, the facilities for the festival were of international standard while the security arrangement was “super.” He enjoned Amaechi to keep up the spirit and ensure effective maintenance of the facilities. He advised the state contingents not to relent in their efforts but ensure that they maintain that lead in the next Sports Festival.
The Sports administrator further noted with delight that the athletes that represented the state proved themselves and commendation for their achievements.
He added that the officials should also be commended for packaging skillful athletes to represent the state effectively.
According to him, Rivers State has made a mark in Sports and called for all hands to be on deck for future engagements. He also commended the various committees for their excellent performance and the entire people of Rivers State for their hospitality and co-operation.
