Political Positions, Not For Sale – RSG

Published

on

The Rivers State Government has restated its position that political positions are not for sale in the state, as it warns unscrupulous individuals, capitalising on the reconstitution of the state Executive Council to solicit for money from highly placed persons to secure them appointments in government to desist from the unwholesome act.

Handing down the warning in a statement signed by the Acting Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Blessing Wikina, the government noted that political appointments by the Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi led administration are purely based on merit, as such appointments, made at the discretion of the governor, attract no payments.

The state government, therefore, urged members of the public who receive text messages requesting them to pay with money for the purpose of securing them appointments to report such cases to security agencies for appropriate action.
