People Living with HIV and AIDs in Anambra, have appealed to striking doctors and other health workers in the state hospitals to call off their industrial action.

Speaking on Friday, a representative of those living with the pandemic, Mr Moses Ibekwe disclosed that since the strike began more than five months ago, many of those living with the virus had died.

“Since the strike started in the state owned hospitals, many of us living with HIV/AIDS have died, because we cannot have access to health care services,” Ibekwe said.

He also appealed to the state government to do all it could to settle with the striking health workers in the interest of patients in the state.

Ibekwe noted that the condition of those of them living with the disease who had not died, was getting worse by the day.

He therefore urge the doctors, other health workers and government to consider their plight.
