OYPM Faults Allegation Against NDDC Leaders
The leadership of Ogoni Youth Peace Movement (OYPM) has regarded as baseless the allegation leveled against the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr. Chibuzor Ugwuoha.
The President of OYPM Comrade Bob Angel who made this known in an interview with newsmen recently in Port Harcourt, observed that the allegations were baseless following Ugwuoha’s track records.
Comrade, Angel, noted that the NDDC boss has made youth empowerment and decentralisation of projects top of his agenda.
“Having gone through their track records, we discovered that the allegations were false as there was steady development, and completion of projects,” he said.
The Ogoni youth leader , stressed that the present NDDC boss had performed more than his predesessors, adding that he should be praised in order to enable him do more.
He also noted with dismay the moves by some Niger Delta youths to drag him (Ugwuoha) to the Independent Corrupt Practices commission (ICPC), saying that the action was against the Niger Delta spirit.
In his contribution, the group’s General Secretary, Comrade Beekue Pius, revealed that the embattled NDDC boss has constructed roads across the Niger Delta region.
According to Pius, over 22,000 youths and women have benefited from the commission’s agricultural and vocational skills acquisition scheme.
Furthermore, he explained how Ugwuoha personally undertook the supply of power generating sets to all Niger Delta State universities as well as security gadgets to security agencies in the region.
