ONELGA Youths Warn Impersonators
The ONELGA chapter of Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) has warned impostors to desist from impersonating as members of the organization or face the wrath of the law.
In a statement signed by Comrade Eke Nnamdi Olilenya and Imegi Ikechukwu, the group’s executive chairman and secretary general respectively, the association drew the attention of federal, state and local government authorities to the activities of a group who parade themselves as executive members of the movement, thereby creating bad bloods, disaffection and crisis in ONELGA.
The NDYM explained that members of the group in question have been threatening lives and properties, adding that NDYM remains a legal entity which adhors and condemns any form of criminality or societal vices.
The statement further explained that the organisation has been organising sensitization programmes aimed at combating cultism and vandalisation, which had resulted in cordial relationship with multi-national companies operating in the area.
The statement maintained that there is no parallel NYDM in ONELGA as projected by Mr. Harcourt Uzor, Charles Ozegbe, Egbenma Sunday and other co-travellers in their camp.
NDYM therefore urged oil companies and other groups to desist from dealing with them until they swore to an oath of good conduct and allegiance noting that whosever does business with them, does so at his or her own peril.
