Olomu Sues For Peace, Love Among Football Fans

The Head of News in Wazobia and Cool FM stations in Port Harcourt, Blessing Olomu has called on football fans of various clubs, especially in Rivers State to see themselves as members of one family.

Olomu, made the call in an exclusive interview with Tidesports during the Football Fans Fiesta organised by Cool FM 95.4, at the Lesuka Everts Centre in Port Harcour recently.

According to Olomu, the reason why they organized the fiesta was geared towards the eradication of football hooliganism and to bring fans together.

“We discovered that fans of various club sides usually have disagreement which sometimes lead to fighting.

This occasion is to bring them together, so that they can see themselves as brothers and sisters,” Olomu said.

Speaking, Ahmed Abdulraham, secretary of Dolphins FC Port Harcourt, described the occasion as the best avenue to meet friends and for football lovers to share ideas.

“This is the first time such thing has happened in Port Harcourt. It actually created opportunity for people to interact and exchange ideas, especially in football matters,” he said.

Also speaking at the occasion, Anthony Akatakpor popularly known as Diplomatic Akasbaba, revealed that the event would be an annual one to enable football fans become more friendly.

“The idea is to bring fans  together and promote peace, unity love in the state.”

He expressed joy over the attendance and described the occasion as a success.
