The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), in the April general elections in Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia has denied  claim that Dr. Peter Odili was his political godfather.

He insisted that only God is his father and not any mortal being.

Sir Omehia stated this on Friday in Port Harcourt while answering questions from journalists shortly after submitting his petition before the State Election Tribunal challenging Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the April general elections.

According to him, only the Almighty God is his Godfather, adding that, he does not rely his confidence on the arms of flesh.

In his words: “I have only one Godfather the Almighty God, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit”.

The APGA governorship candidate stated that he is optimistic that he would win his case in the tribunal pointing out that the Electoral Act stipulated  what we should do to win the matter before the tribunal.

He declared that he had complied with those electoral guidelines as regards to the tribunal noting that, the delay tactics in the tribunal process is only geared towards denying him his mandate.

Sir Omehia stated that APGA is the only party in the state adding that, APGA is seeking the mandate of the silent majority in the state.
