NSF Organisation Has Improved – NFA
The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has said that in spite of initial hitches, the football competition at the 17th National Sports Festival (NSF) in Port Harcourt has improved.
The Coordinator of football for the games, Emmanuel Adesanya, however, said yesterday in Port Harcourt that there was still room for more improvement.
Adesanya decried the lukewarm attitude of the Rivers FA officials who did not make necessary arrangements for match venues to be ready before kick-off.
“The Rivers FA officials are aloof and we had to be the ones running around to get the basic things which ought to be their responsibility.
“In spite of the complaints we raised, it has not in any way affected the quality of football displayed by teams in the competition,” he said.
Adesanya, who heads the amateur league of the NFA, also said that the teams had been complying with the rules on fines.
“We made sure that the teams paid their fines before the commencement of their next match.
“As I speak to you, all the liable teams had paid their fines and it is now left for them to curb the excesses of their players during matches,” he said.
