Mrs Amaechi Congratulates Team Rivers

Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi has congratulated Team Rivers for emerging winner of the 17th National Sports Festival tagged Garden City Games 2011.

Mrs. Amaechi in a statement signed by her Media Assistant Dike Bekwele said that the achievement of the Rivers youths in the national event was a demonstration of the state government’s desires to empower the youths in sports and produce champions for the nation.

Mrs. Amaechi stated that the impressive performance of team Rivers has shown that various reforms and youth summit organized by the present administration has started yielding results.

She charged the youths to look beyond the state and attract more international laurels.

Similarly, the governor’s wife expressed appreciation to Rivers people for organising a remarkable event in the history of the festival. According to her, “the festival would not have been a success without the support of the citizens who were so determined, resolved and patriotic to showcase a good outing.

Mrs. Amaechi encouraged them to sustain the peaceful disposition and continue to display the hospitality of Rivers State at all times.
